Brussels development cooperation policy evaluated
The framework ordinance of 27 July 2017 establishing a framework for Brussels development cooperation provides for the organisation of a five-year external evaluation of the actions undertaken to implement the Brussels development cooperation policy.
Five years after the adoption of the framework ordinance, it is time to undertake the evaluation of the development cooperation policy.
Selected under a public procurement, the South Research cooperative began work on the first external evaluation in January 2023. The evaluation involved consultation with a wide range of Brussels development cooperation stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds (ministerial office, regional administrations, local authorities, NGOs, diaspora associations, etc.).
The final report was submitted to Brussels International in July 2023. It reviews Brussels’ development cooperation policy and makes recommendations for improving its efficiency.
We invite you to read the findings in the report available in French here and in Dutch here.
