The Eurocities Economic Development Forummet in Brussels
From 3 to 5 June the Brussels-Capital Region hosted another session of the Eurocities Economic Development Forum.
The Forum brought together five different groups, namely city branding, entrepreneurship and SMEs, cohesion policy, metropolitan regions and international economic relations. More than ever, the cross-pollination between these different groups was encouraged. The city branding and international economic relations groups, for example discussed ideas on trade missions together.
The emphasis throughout the Forum session was on the opportunities to receive EU grants. The programme also included several visits to Brussels. Various regional projects were presented: the rehabilitation of the Canal area, Brussels’ city marketing strategy with the be.Brussels campaign as the highlight and finally a series of innovative initiatives for SMEs by Impulse Brussels.
