4th day of the Réseau régional bruxellois de la Solidarité internationale (RRBSI)

Meeting of international solidarity stakeholders in Brussels and discussion of experiences. The Brussels-Capital Region has several citizens and associations that work hard to promote international solidarity. Their initiatives demonstrate and highlight the relations between our Region and the world. Instead of focussing on their diversity, these stakeholders chose to concentrate on what they have in common and organise themselves by setting up a network for exchanges. The fourth annual day of this Brussels regional network for international solidarity (Réseau régional bruxellois de la Solidarité internationale, RRBSI) was held on 29 March 2019.

The RRBSI is a participatory platform for all the international solidarity stakeholders in Brussels. Its mission is to create synergies and establish partnerships between stakeholders, in a flexible and relevant manner, while taking account of the complexity of Belgium’s institutional landscape.

Reinforce networking

The 4th annual day of the RRBSI, which was attended by over 100 people from various backgrounds, mainly focused on ways of improving networking.

It kicked off with a presentation by Cécile Vanderstappen of the Centre national de coopération au développement (CNCD) on the efficient collaboration between Brussels organisations in terms of money transfers to the south.

The participants then attended workshops on networking. Eric Laureys, the spokesman of Bianca Debaets, the State Secretary of the Brussels-Capital Region responsible for Development Cooperation, then gave a speech. The day ended with a reception and music by a band led by the Iraqi composer and musician Osama Abdulrasol.

The 4th annual day of the RRBSI offered an excellent opportunity for several fruitful encounters, contributing to the development of many positive synergies and interactions between the network’s members.
