Iris Festival: Brussels International promotes European dialogue
On 3 and 4 May 2025, the Iris Festival celebrated the 36th anniversary of the Brussels-Capital Region with an anniversary weekend packed with fun activities. Brussels’ residents turned up en masse for this event despite the uncertain political climate due to the lack of a regional government.
The 36th Iris Festival offered the people of Brussels an opportunity to come together and celebrate, with concerts, street performances, family entertainment, cultural discoveries, parades in traditional costumes, soapbox races and much more. An opportunity to remind people of the importance of culture and community!
Open houses in all the communes
On Saturday 3 May 2025, the communes of Forest, Saint-Gilles, Molenbeek and Anderlecht organised an open house, with guided tours and various local events.
Booths and activities in Brussels Park
On Sunday 4 May 2025, Brussels Park was transformed into a village with lots of fun activities.
As the regional expertise centre for structural funds, European affairs and international relations, Brussels International received people in the booth of the Brussels Regional Public Service (SPRB), alongside other Brussels administrations.

Citizen dialogue illustrated
For this 36th iteration, Brussels International wanted to raise awareness among Brussels residents of European issues that are relevant to their daily life, such as social cohesion, the social economy, energy renovation, the green transition and green spaces.
Members of the public were invited to choose three topics from this list and discuss them with a moderator. In the meantime, illustrator Valentin Dellieu created a small fresco with drawings inspired by this citizen dialogue. The event was a real success!
