05-2013-VA-1-4On 19 April, more than 230 people answered the invitation of the Mayor of the City of Brussels, Freddy Thielemans, to celebrate the start of the Brussels Europe Press Club’s presidency of the Federation of European Press Clubs. The mayor’s sense of humour and his ability to switch between languages delighted the guests as well as the magnificent setting of the Gothic Room of the town hall of Brussels in Grand-Place where the reception was held. The event also served as an opening session and welcome to the General Assembly of the Federation of European Press Clubs. The Brussels Europe Press Club kicked off its year as the president of the Federation while also welcoming new candidate members (Jerusalem, Kiev, The Hague and Lille) and welcoming back former members (Liège, Marseille and Milan).
